I made a quick dash last week to check out the monsoon in the hills of Kodai. The visit was fruitful – the hills were green and it rained on and off. Clouds and sun took turns and through the day, changing the way the landscape looked. Fog swept the valleys as it rained and settled down in the depressions after drenching the slopes. A few pictures below.

Darkening skies announcing the imminent rain.

Sun and shade alternating in the valley.

Clouds descend into the valley.

Lake, valley, hills and the sky.

Its a clear evening after the clouds go away.

hi , your photographs are inspiring. been to kodi and i love it. will be headed there this summer hopefully. please may i know the names of the places where you took the 2nd and 5th images, maybe i can go there this time…
@Shruti, all the images were taken in a place called Mannavanur, about 30km from Kodai town.
thanks a lot arun ! missed it last time….will go there for sure. if you haven’t been to naidupuram in kodi, its worth exploring. the hills and villages around it have gorgeous scenery, mostly private houses and farms- quite isolated. its above kodi town, so you can see the lake & town below from naidupuram
