Sunset over pagodas at Bagan, Manmar

You can never tire of sunsets at Bagan…  Each time I am in Bagan, I keep a lookout for new places to see the sunset from. Each new place offers the same view and same sunset. And each one of them is invariably remarkable.

Angkor Wat in the Rains

Daily photo: Visiting Angkor Wat in the rains…

Angkor Wat in the rains

We were at Angkor Wat on a cloudy afternoon. Just before we were about to complete our visit and return, it started raining. As we were in no rush, we decided to wait at a cafe in the premises of the temple. While we ordered something to eat, I saw people continuing to arrive at the temple, now with their colourful umbrellas unfolded. They made a beautiful contrast to the otherwise grey Angkor Wat on a day when they skies were grey. I got hold of an umbrella from the cafe (incidentally, this one was black!) and came out to capture the splash of colours.

Updating from Myanmar…

It has been a busy and silent month on the blog, thanks to an extensive travel calendar in South East Asia and the time that went in preparing for the journeys. In the first ten days of this month, I was in Cambodia, leading a photography tour across the country. Subsequently, I arrived in Myanmar and spent a few days strolling the streets of Yangon and visiting a few beautiful places nearby. Today is rest-day, and gives me some time to write this post.

Mya Tha Lyaung sleeping Buddha at Bago, Myanmar

Next week, I will be leading a photography tour through Myanmar before returning home. Another month later, I am out again on photography tours in Varanasi, North-East India and Rajasthan, ending my usual long streak of photo-journeys in winter.

Here is an image I made in Bago, Myanmar, two days ago – Mya Tha Lyaung sleeping Buddha.
