Photography Tours – from Badami to Bhutan, North East to Gujarat..

Here is a quick look at all the upcoming photography tours and workshops by us – Darter Photography – where I am a co-founder/director. Photography Tours for 2013

We are truly excited about the long list of photography tours that are scheduled throughout the year. We begin the coming weekend with a photography tour to Agumbe (full), followed by Coorg (few seats), Badami, Agumbe again (in July, open), Lahaul & Spiti (full), Goa, Bhutan, Hornbill Festival, Kutch and Rajasthan.

And when it comes to workshops, there is a Level PRO workshop on product photography (June 22-23) and our beginner’s workshop in Bangalore. Travel Photography Workshop in Badami, Karnataka

July 5-7, 2013

Photography is not merely a process of freezing what we see. It is a medium for artistic expression, a tool to speak our minds and express our thoughts instantaneously with a powerful visual. But how do we transform our photographs from merely freezing a scene to creating powerful visuals that speak to the viewer? This workshop will help you in achieving it. Rainforest Rendezvous in Agumbe, Goa and Coorg

With an outlook of good monsoons, we are flooding the western ghats with a series of our Rainforest Rendezvous Tours. You wouldn’t want to miss this short three-month duration when the clouds break loose and pour into our pristine rainforests. Travel Photography in Bhutan

October 19 to 26

We tried hard to explain how beautiful and calming Bhutan is, but nothing was good enough to describe the place. You are assured to be overwhlemed by the beautiful Himalayan landscape, Buddhist structures that look like jewels studded into the mountains or the friendly young monks who keep chasing each other in the temples and monasteries. Of course, we at Darter as we always do, have explored the country to chalk out the best schedule and photography opportunities. Photography Day Out – Melukote

June 15

North East & Hornbill Festival

The festival brings together 16 major tribes of Nagaland in the first week of December each year. The colorful performances show off the rich traditions of the tribes, and are based on themes of hunting, harvest and war. Many Worlds of Hampi – A Photography Tour – December 7,8 & 9.

Hampi is perhaps the most popular of our photography tours so far. I have been asked time and again over the year about the next dates. But we had to wait for the winter, which is the best time to be in Hampi – when the photography opportunities are at their best. So is the weather.

Travel Photography Workshop at Badami

I am just back after leading a photography trip to the magnificent highlands of Lahaul & Spiti. The tour took us right through the heart of the Himalayas, high altitude lakes, high passes and villages above 14,000 feet where we spent the nights.
