I like the article. There are many times on my way to OOTY or Mudumali I have crossed Bandipur didn’t get chance to stay there.

I am not very familiar with the Karnataka roads and can’t speak kanada as well. Can you please provide me the driving direction from Bangalore with more details?

Hi, thanks so much for putting your trip experiences up – it’s inspired us to plan a few extra days here.

We’re definitely looking to go on a trek when we head there in 2 weeks time – a question: are trekking boots necessary or would trekking sandals be sufficient?

Thanks
S

[...] We must have reached Gundlupet around 9pm. We stopped here for a while before continuing on the road to Kalpetta that passed through Bandipur National Park. This section of the drive was something I looked forward to. For more information on Bandipur National Park, including what to do and where to stay, see my earlier report on visit to Bandipur. Guys please remember these days there is a rule that road entering bandipur is to be closed at 9.00 pm . and no vehicle is allowed to enter the forest after 9.00 pm
so those who want to visit bandipur please reach before 9pm or after 6 am,
