A Dasayya from Melukote
Devaraya is a village accountant who works in a nearby village. His father and grandfather worked as ‘dasayya’s at Melukote and he has earned the right to be one himself by descent. Since his full time profession keeps him busy and yet, since he believes that he should perpetuate the family tradition, he comes here whenever he finds time.
He was kind enough to showcase the tools of his tradition for a photograph. I decided to take advantage of the excellent background behind him.
