Stairway to heaven!
This photograph was made when I was leading a travel photography workshop to Badami, at the well-known rock-cut temples complex. Having been to Badami many times over and documented the rock cut temples, I was looking for a composition beyond something that simply represented the temples. And during all those visits in the past, I had been fascinated by these stairs that appeared to lead you nowhere (they actually lead you to another level of rock-cut temples) and had wondered on the best ways to present them with the camera. This time too, I settled down near the stairs, reflected on my thoughts and its possible manifestations with the camera. What caught my attention was was the strong sun rays seeping through, which was guaranteed to cause flares. And this is the image that turned out when I aimed the camera at it.
