An Appeal – Mridula’s Dream of Antarctica with Sir Robert Swan’s 2041

Travel blogger Mridula is looking to join Sir Robert Swan on a trip to Antarctica for a cause in 2013, and she is looking for help with funds for the visit. Below is the excerpt from Mridula’s blog, which also includes a link for making donations.  Also visit her blog to know more.

I decided to apply for the 2013 expedition with Sir Robert Swan and guess what? I got accepted. That is part A. And if you are wondering why is Sir Swan’s expedition called 2041 it is because in that year the no drilling, no mining Antarctica treaty is coming up for review. The expeditions main aim is to raise the awareness about the treaty and environment. Watch this video and lets move to part B.

Step B is to raise 22,000 dollars plus air fare and gear! I decided to raise the individual funds via FirstGiving. I decided to go with FirstGiving because it transfers the money directly to Sir San’s 2041 and I do not come in picture anywhere as far as the money is concern!

I am obviously scared that it is a big amount that I am trying to raise but what fun the life is if I never tried anything bigger than me? For of course this trip, the goal of the trip, the continent, everything is bigger than me. So I know I can’t do this alone. I need your help.

If you wish do donate to 2041 via my cause.

I also need your help in spreading out the word!
