Random Updates

This is one of those posts that I make once in a while, in which I keep aside my travel stories or photograph in favour updates about what I have been up to. 🙂

Those of you who have been following this blog may have sensed that I am an addict of mountains. I have spent a long time travelling in the Himalayas, traversing these mountains through Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradedsh. The longing for Himalayas is a never ending one and I have always looked for opportunities to see more of it or go back to the same places.

In one such endeavour, I spent three weeks in Bhutan in the month May. A week of it was spent leading a photography tour for Darter Photography, and I subsequently spent more days exploring more remote parts of Bhutan. It is a country with which anyone would easily fall in love, I was no exception. After the first trip, I am now looking to leading another tour to Bhutan for Darter, most likely in September. Travelogues and photographs from Bhutan will follow soon.

Subsequent to Bhutan, I am casting my eyes on Nepal, which I have not visited so far. With my travel calendar for this year is packed, Nepal may have to wait for another year or longer. Hopefully the uncertain political situation in the country will not last long and order will be restored soon.

But before I set my eyes on new places, I am travelling to Lahaul & Spiti next month, which has always been a place where I look forward to going to. This is going to be my third visit to the region and I would be exploring a few new places during this visit.

On this blog, the updates have been slow for almost a year now and the number of posts has dwindled to less than half-a-dozen in a month. I am looking at changing that and hoping to bring it back to an average of ten to fifteen a month. The total number of posts on this blog is approaching a thousand and the total number of visitors since inception is approaching two million. It will also be completing seven years of existence in July.

And there are plenty of stories that are pending to write. I have probably got a hundred book reviews to make, hundred new stories to tell and hundred new photographs to post. There are stories from my trips to Ladakh, a lot of which has remained unwritten since 2008. There are stories from Bhutan, Spiti, Zanskar and about several trips to more accessible places like Hampi, Munnar, Badami, Rajasthan and much more. I am looking forward to making time to post them all soon..
