hey there. i see that you are quite an adventurous traveler. i wonder if you are interested in a project i’m affiliated with. a small group of people, including me, are traveling to help alleviate poverty by connecting local service / activity providers with a site that advertises their services for free. http://www.stepuptravel.org allows local folks to post as many ads as they want for free, so that they can become self-employed int he travel industry offering language lessons, dance lessons, music lessons, being private guides, selling goods, etc. the site helps them compete with much larger companies that organize big tourist packages for high prices. it’s a way for more authentic connections between traveler and local, too.
so anyway, if you’re interested, you can write volunteer@stepuptravel.org
i think india could really do incredibly well with this service
best of luck in your travels.
