A 15 kg pack seems heavy. Were you carrying all your gear (including tent and sleeping bag?).

Does anyone have any recommendations / contact information for good porters?

Finally, do the porters on this trail use yaks or do they carry the load themselves?

Thanks!

Thanks. Nice blogs and nicer pics.

A small correction though that you might want to make. The place where you camped after Tsoka (small Plateau, with a solitary hut) on way to Dzongri is Phedang and not Bakhim as you have written.

From Phedang, there are routes that directly go towards Thansing and is often used on the way back from Goechala, if you want to bypass Dzongri.

Hey, Its very informative. Wish you could have added a few details on costs. And how you got the porters. Can I just go and find porters as soon as I get off the bus.
thanks
